sanvincenzoSan Vincenzo is one of the best-equipped tourist resorts on the Costa degli Etruschi, able to offer the most numerous hotel and general reception in the Cornia valley. Thanks to its temperate climate, San Vincenzo is a place where you can spend a holiday all year round, and not only in the summer. Its coast of fine, light sand stretches for some twelve kilometres, often with mediterranean scrub running right up to the beaches themselves. Free and equipped beaches alternate from the northern border with Castagneto Carducci to the southern one near the promontory of Baratti and Populonia and the council of Piombino. Most of the equipped beaches and bathing establishments are to be found in the urban centre, whilst the longest stretch of beach (some 8 kilometres) coincides with the Park of Rimegliano in the southern part of the territory – a natural park that is part of the system of the Parchi della Val di Cornia and which has an extraordinarily intact example of mediterranean scrub, crossed by pathways arriving directly on the wild, deep beaches.

San Vincenzo: the portThe yacht marina, extended in recent years, lies in the centre of the town and allows nautical tourism an excellent stopover within the Tuscan archipelago. Other than the sea, San Vincenzo also offers the possibility of naturalist walks linked to the presence of the Park of Rimegliano and the hillside village of San Carlo, an ex-mining village now much-appreciated for its natural setting in the middle of the hills of the Cornia valley. The ample endowment of sports facilities and equipped nature trails has, through the years, made San Vincenzo a place where sports tourism, in particular linked to cycling, has achieved a consolidated presence. Guests staying in local lodgings have many possibilities to practise sport during their stay. San Voncenzo’s position at the centre of the Tyrrhenian coast allows anyone who decides to take their holiday here the chance to reach easily and swiftly the other principal tourist attractions of the area, such as the system of the Parchi della Val di Cornia, which includes the Park of Rimegliano, but has as its absolute flower-in-a-national-buttonhole the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia and the Archaeological-Mineral Park of San Silvestro. A few kilometres away lay the medieval villages of Suvereto, Campiglia, Bolgheri and Castagneto C.cci, and also the beaches of the Sterpaia Natural Park and the Caldana thermal spa in the council of Campiglia Marittima.
